NextGen Pastor

NextGen Pastor Job Description: 
 

To provide pastoral care and godly leadership for our NextGen (children and youth) ministry at First Baptist Church Crawfordville. 

 

Qualifications: 

  1. Meet the spiritual, personal and character qualifications of a pastor found in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. 
  2. Commit to continually growing in a relationship with Jesus, and displaying Christlikeness. 
  3. Prefer a candidate who has or is pursuing a ministry related degree. 
  4. Must have previous ministry experience with children and/or youth. 
  5. Shepherding his wife and children (if applicable) first. 
  6. Support the church vision and covenant as a faithful member of First Baptist Church Crawfordville and be in full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. 
  7. Perform high quality, detailed work with minimum supervision with assigned deadlines. 
  8. Manage and address confidential matters with integrity. 
  9. Effectively plan, organize, and delegate, communicate, and manage conflict. 
  10. Be punctual, motivated, and a self-starter. 
  11. Will be required to pass a Background Check pursuant to the Background Check policy of the Church’s Constitution and By Laws. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Provide vision, leadership, and direction for our NextGen ministry 
  2. Develop and implement successful discipleship strategies. 
  3. Lead and develop our NextGen in evangelism and missional opportunities. 
  4. Passionately and selflessly serve the NextGen and their families. 
  5. Provide age relevant teaching, preaching, and engaging activities for our children and youth. 
  6. Plan nursery schedule (birth – 3 years old) with volunteers. 
  7. Lead and/or be actively involved in Vacation Bible School and its planning. 
  8. Organize and plan children and youth summer camps. 
  9. Build relationships with children, youth, and their families by seeking creative ways to partner with, equip, and support our NextGen and their families. 
  10. Enlist, equip, encourage volunteers who do/will serve our NextGen ministry. 
  11. Meet with prospective volunteers to assure they are suitable for the position (background checks, skill set, etc.) 
  12. Oversee and approve any curriculum used in NextGen ministry. Work in cooperation with the lead Pastor, all church staff, NextGen ministry team(s) and church leadership. Attend all staff meetings, NextGen ministry team(s) and Church Council meetings unless providentially hindered. 
  13. Maintain a safe, clean, and updated environment. Communicate with leaders of any supply needs and/or maintenance needs. 
  14. Stay in communication with the lead Pastor, church staff, NextGen ministry team(s), and Church Council of upcoming events and updated information pertaining to the NextGen ministry. 
  15. Maintain communication with students and families; listening to any concerns parents may have, and provide timely follow up with visitors and church members. 
  16. Effectively budget for the needs of the NextGen ministry.

Worship Leader

Worship Leader Job Description: 
 
The Worship Leader shall assist the Pastor and have responsibility for providing a music ministry that is spiritually grounded, focused, and dynamic. 
 

Qualifications: 

  1. Be a person of integrity. 
  2. Be a committed Christian of the Baptist faith, genuine spirituality, a humble spirit, and adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. 
  3. Undertake to support and encourage the activities of the church as a whole. 
  4. Preferably hold or be in pursuit of a music education degree. 
  5. Have at least two years of music ministry leadership experience in a like-minded Church. 
  6. Prefer experience managing multiple choirs and ensembles (vocal & instrumental). 
  7. Demonstrate past history in developing a music ministry. 
  8. Exhibit the traits of being: hard-working, self-motivating, good organizer with effective communication and administrative skills 
  9. Be gifted with musical skills and abilities. 
  10. Have a sense of God’s call to Music Ministry. 
  11. Will be required to pass a Background Check pursuant to the Background Check policy of the Church’s Constitution and By-Laws. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. The Worship Leader oversees the following areas of ministry and assumes the following duties: 
  2. Support the Music Program for the entire Church. 
  3. Call to order Church services at the appointed time. 
  4. Ideally adapt the flow of Church services to accommodate special events, including but not limited to mission presentations, baby dedications, baptisms, etc. 
  5. Provide a blended worship experience. 
  6. Regularly invite and encourage guest performers and soloists. 
  7. As much as possible, support the Pastor’s sermon emphasis with musical selections of the same course. 
  8. Schedule, plan, and coordinate special presentations such as, but not limited to, Christmas, Easter and other musical events that might be suitable for the overall enhancement of the music program and outreach of the Church. 
  9. Review musical selections for all weddings, funerals and memorials held at First Baptist Church of Crawfordville. 
  10. Serve on any established Music Committee as support staff. 
  11. Recruit, encourage, equip, and direct all Church musicians. 
  12. Manage and maintain Church owned music equipment and instruments. 
  13. Develop and lead worship teams as requested, both vocal and instrumental. 
  14. Provide basic leadership and oversight to all volunteer music leaders and workers. 
  15. Function as a part of Church Staff, which includes attendance at staff meetings and Church Council meetings. 
  16. Be directly accountable to the Church at large through the Pastor, and the Personnel Committee
